When they arrive they find Edd`s father's collection of bizarre weapons and it makes Edd feel un-easy. This is because his father never really forgave him for accidentally shooting his mother dead when he was younger. What follows is a lot of gory deaths each worse than the previous but "THE MUTILATOR" is saving the best one for last, he`s saving it for Edd! Great slasher flick with plenty of gorey special effects. If your into the genre it's worth picking up the uncut DVD import for the best gore-blast.

A typical slasher movie from the US drive-in era. A low budget trash movie with crap acting, bad editing, shite music and a bit of gore (COOL!). Good if you like mindless killings and decapitation.

A low budget b-movie with your typical backwood yokles. My favourite gory bit in this film is the throat cutting scene which was made by special effects guru Tom Savini.

A group of pretty girls get ready to have a fun slumber party. Meanwhile an escapee from a local mental institution decides he would like to do a little partying himself. The Girls have got a generous supply of potato chips, coke and dope. The killer has got a very novel style of his own. With the odd severed head, bloody hand print, drill killing and gratuous nudity its just how a gory slasher should be. Even the pizza delivery boy ends up resembling his product! Very underated but one of the best, "Slumber Party Murders" is one of my personal favourites. Check out the USA uncut DVD for the best gore blast.

Doctor Lindsay Gale hosts a radio talk show about psychological problems. Kirk Smith becomes a regular caller and in doing so, developes a bizarre attachment to Dr. Gale. No longer stimulated by merely listening to the radio sessions, he begins stalking the doctors patients and brutally attacking them.
Wow this blokes a nutter. Not a bad movie but i have only seen a cut version so i can't make too many comments on it. Typical mad man on the loose killing scantily dressed teenage girls. Personaly I can't see what all the fuss is about ( JOKE!! ). Aparently the W.O.V. U.K. pre-cert is missing a fair few minutes from it so I will update this review when I get an uncut version.

Jana Bates, The Beautiful queen of the horror flicks, is in Cannes to promote her latest film "Scream". Oblivious to her, she has been followed there by her number one fan, Vinnie Durand. Durand, who`s life-long fantasy has been to make a movie with Bates as his leading lady, stalks the movie queen in a deluded and vain attempt to capture her attentions. Mysteriously, members of Bates`s entourage begin to die in very nasty circumstances. Bates eventually realizes that she is the ultimate target of the fanatic killer`s bloody spree and frantically looks for a way out of her horrible predicament. Great movie for the era with two fantastic American horror film stars. If your into the slasher genre you will probably enjoy this film even though it does have a comedy vein running throughout. give it a whirl, you wont be dissapointed.

Donny Kohler acts out his revenge by luring beautiful women into his house and burning them to death. He does this in a specially prepared room which he built in the house. Work collegues and friends start to notice his madness and in a twist of fate, the final act of vengeance is not by him, but by the victims he has slaughtered.
Classed as one of the U.K. video nasties, "Don't go in the House" is not half as bad as it sounds although the first burning, is a bit convincing. I wouldn't say it was the best movie of all time but it is better than most of it's era, so if your into low budget trash this ones for you. This review is from the U.K. pre cert.

Craig, Peter, Joanie and Ingrid set out on their carefree journey by the light of day, but as the forest becomes denser, darkness closes in around them. They begin to realize that they are lost. Suddenly a form burst from the trees, a machete glints in the light, and Craig drops dead! They flee in panic and spend the whole night trying to flee from the maniac killer.
I love cheeze and this fits the bill. Mindless killing and creative gore. Even the sound track is just as bad and not to mention the dialogue ( ha ha ! ). A total American Drive-in type slasher "Don't Go in the Woods.. Alone" was caught up in the pre-cert cuffufle of 82 and was banned outright in the U.K. I don't think the reason was the gore but the acting alone... LOVE IT !

A series of murders rocked Crippen High School however the killer was never found. Once again, 5 years later, the horror has returned. Harry Sleerik, a producer from Cosmic Pictures, has come to Crippen Hall to make a movie in the halls and classrooms of the now abandoned school. It is a reunion of sorts with some of the original teachers and students returning to play as themselves and soon history starts repeating itself. Funny part in this movie is seeing a young George Clooney who ends up needing E.R. treatment himself.

Julie, a young co-ed senses that the powerfull evil behind the killings is very near as she begins to peice together the clues. The usual American Teen Kill flick with a nice climax!

They work by day, take a full schedule of classes at night and somehow find time for study and the occasional date. Women in the evening curriculum at Wendell college do a lot to get ahead in life, but there`s someone who will go to even greater lengths. Someone who will do anything to get a head. A killer who`s m.o. is the ritualistic decapitation of victims. The police have hunches but no clues. Suspects but no evidence and the body count is rising. Finals are coming early this year and for those who don`t make the grade heads will role! It was funny to hear that Kenneth Hughes directed this film because strangley enough he also directed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which was about a mad car. Must be in the blood! Banned in the UK in 82', "Terror Eyes" looks a lot worse than the UK sleeve depicts and is you average slasher type. This is not to be confused with the Vipco Release as it is another film.

In an Indian colony, experiments with the deeper subconsciousness are taking place in which, when in a trance like state, people are connecting to the darkness in there soul. The subjects are going deeper than before and the problem is what they bring back from “the other side”. The three stories revolve around the “Taylor Eriksson Group” (not a logistic company in Brighton) and the subjects pay a terrible price for tinkering with the netherworld goddesses.



The first part, Shakti, follows the story of a girl in a mental institution, Elizabeth Steinberg, who has a visit from a woman called Tansu Yilmaz, supposedly writing an article about the death of the mad woman’s therapist. An invisible spirit reeks havoc on anyone who pisses her off and in a very bloody sequence the writer gets her just deserves. The second, Devi, follows the story of Robin Borg, a speed freak. A young guy who has an anger and violence problem and is sentenced to 15 hours of psychotherapy. He is referred to Dr Steiner, who has a great reputation of solving such problems. With a bit of a nudge in the right direction the therapy starts off ok and the doctor persuades Robin to start the programme but at what cost. The third and final chapter is Kali. More therapy, a woman joins an outsider therapy group and claims to have an invisible creature clinging to her back. She is hunched over so the faith healer goes to work to release her from this invisible force. During the process the faith healer releases her from this burden but notices a dark shadow that runs off across the hallway into the darkness. The faith healers wife goes down to the cellar, where she literally gets her brains smashed out by this force. The faith healer and the woman go to investigate but get trapped in the cellar with this demonic apparition.
The film opens with a woman who cuts her own eyelids off so she can see and if this wasn’t enough the blood and guts come thick and fast all the way. A fast moving movie and not your usual run of the mill trilogy with some great gore and edge of the seat intenseness. Personally, my favourite section is the second which has a macabre twist and eye squinting scenes. A great movie in its own right and a great start to the “frightfestpresents” label. So if you’re into something different check this out!

Out of the funniest black comedy horror flicks to bless our screens, Basket Case has to be one of the best. With some outrageous effects and make-up this film instantaneously gain noriety and became a cult classic in its own right. Totally absurd and not to be missed check out the UK DVD or better still the VHS pre cert.

On October 2, 1971, In the town of Westport, Connecticut, a small film crew led by writer/director Wes Craven and producer Sean Cunningham began shooting a low-budget exploitation movie called Night of Vengence. No one could of guessed that the two struggling, inexperienced film makers were on the verge of a defining moment in there careers, or that Night of Vengence would become the controversial horror classic LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT.



Last House On The Left was released in 1972 and marked Wes Craven`s directorial debut. The film tells the sorded tale of two hippy girls who go out to a concert and whilst trying to score some grass they run into some trouble. They get abducted, raped and butchered by a fugitive "family" of for degenerates led by a psychopath named Krug. After the massacre the fugitives unwittingly seek refuge at the home of one of there victims, the killers meet with the bizarre, gruesome revenge of the murdered girl`s parents.



Some of the footage in this film is quite intense as the girls go through an extremely tormenting time. There is one part in the film when one of the girls escapes the clutches of the group and a wild chase through the woods ensues. Eventually she is trapped by the gang and stabed various times. She is left for dead but then the gang decide to finish her off by pulling her guts out. Most versions of this film have this part cut out and it was one of the reasons it got banned in the U.K. however you can get the uncut version from www.proxis.be.

Directed by William Lustig, who also directed Maniac Cop and Vigilante and featuring landmark gore effects from the master of gore Tom Savini, this notorious classic was censored all over the world for it`s graphic violence. Joe spinell, who was the co-writer/co-producer and who also starred in Rocky, The Godfather and Taxi, plays the starring role as Frank Zito and has done an excellent job at portraying the insanities of a deranged lunatic.
One of my favorite parts in the film is when two young lovers are making out in a car and one spots Frank peeping at them through the window. The suspense builds and then Frank suddenly appears in front of the car and blows the guys head clean off in one of the best head explosions I`ve have ever seen!
Digitally re-mastered by Anchor Bay with an all new 5.1 Dolby Digital sound track Maniac has never sounded and looked so good, so if you have not got a copy yet, I advise you to leg it to your nearest film shop and buy a copy of one of the most deranged films ever made.

Under the pseudonym of Victor Janos, Roger wrote, starred, produced and directed the movie.

Roger stars as Terry Hawkins a down and out pornographer who is fresh out of prison. Disgusted with the world around him he comes up with a brand new idea and starts to make a series of snuff movies. He gets a crew together and they set about doing extra weird shit and killing people. This seems to be a success and the crew are having a whale of a time. Finally his plan is revealed and he targets the very society that got him locked up in the first place acting out his gruesome revenge.

Long considered a lost movie, Barrel Entertainment has spared no expense in bringing together the unrated special edition of the 1970`s Grindhouse classic. The dvd comes with two discs which are packed with features, a 36 page booklet by Headpress editor David Kerekes and the original cover painting artwork by Steve Bissette (Swamp Thing). The transfer is good considering the state of the negatives and it still to this day has the power to shock and amuse.

My favourite parts are the fake operation where they mutilate one of the women, the film and the music both build up to a manic climax which still tickles my gore bone, and the slaughter house scene. To avoid fainting, keep repeating: "it`s only a movie, only a movie, only a MOO-VAA!!"

This is the story of an aspiring young artist (played by Ferrara under his stage name Jimmy Laine) who is driven mad by his struggles and the pressures of urban life. Armed with a battery powered drill and a taste for murder he takes to the streets in a bloody rampage. The film takes on a realistic journey into madness and murder and has some bloody good gore scenes and spanking Punk music performed by Tony Coca-Cola and the Roosters. This was one of the films that aided towards the banning of a 39 films in the U.K. in 1982 because of the full page colour spread advert in the news papers for the Vipco release with a shot of the infamous "drilled in the head" scene. Hard not to notice that really whist browsing the video retailer mag!

This is where the rumors came from that it was a real snuff film and she was actually killed, but if you watch it, it's very obvious it was staged. This film was Banned in thirty two states in the U.S. and outright in the U.K. It was probably for the acting as the film is pretty shit . Check out the "Banned List" for more info.
